HOW THE ROYAL DUTCH NAVY HIGHLY CORROSIVE RADARJAMMER
HEAT EXCHANGER PROBLEM WAS SOLVED BY THE USE OF HIGH PERFORMANCE SYNTHETIC
MATERIALS.
The air to air heat exchanger in the APEC II radar jammer was sensitive to
corrosion, with high cost consequences for the maintenance of the radar
equipment. To solve this issue and increase the cooling capacity, Geurts
developed a light weight heat exchanger in high performance synthetic
materials. |
STRONGLY IMPROVED DESIGN OF A COIL & SHELL HEAT
EXCHANGER
In the well known technology of a Coil & Shell heat exchanger, Geurts
developed a technology to improve the control of the heat transfer and build
a computer model to be able to calculate the dimensions of the design. This
technological leap makes compact and cost efficient designs of thermal and
pressure shock proof equipment, in the high temperature (1000 ºC) and high
pressure (1000 bar) range possible. |

CORROSION RESISTANT LIGHT WEIGHT MODULAR HEAT EXCHANGE
CONSTRUCTION FOR THE GAS TREATMENT INDUSTRY
The municipal waste incineration plant in the east part of Holland, had to renew
every 3 to 4 years its heat exchangers (weight of 5 tons 40 meter above the
ground) in the flue gas of the plant due to strong corrosion at enormous cost.
Geurts developed a very light weight corrosion resistant and easy to assemble
modular heat exchange system at substantially lower cost. |
